Special topics: Block Print, cut and fold 3-D Paper Ornaments! Mondays and Wednesdays in December 12/9, 12/11, 12/16, 12/18, 6-8 PM

During this two week, Monday & Wednesday evening class. (2 days, four 2-3 hr evening classes) you will learn the basics of free-hand and traditional press Relief printing to make fun hand printed three dimensional “origami” paper ornaments

You will learn the ins and outs of Relief printing with linoleum blocks, designing and cutting your blocks, Inking, and printing either free hand or with a professional relief print press!

You will receive hands on education as the instructor Thayer Bray will take you step by step through the Design, block cutting, and printing, and cutting, folding and gluing processes.

At the end of the class you will have hand-printed three dimensional folded paper ornaments and decorations sure to impress, all that you made yourself!

Evening 1 : Introduction, Design and cut your linoleum blocks, strategize printing patterns

Evening 2 : proofing and printing- troubleshooting- learning to work with ink and print.

Evening 3: More printing, and cutting, folding and constructing last weeks dried prints. into ornaments

Evening 4: collect your prints, feedback and celebration!

This Workshop is $80+$20 lab fee. Lab fees pay for tools and materials. feel free to bring your own paper,

This class is well suited to younger learners!

* This is an introductory class.

*This class requires moderate hand strength and a dexterity.

*You may be exposed to natural and petroleum solvents in this class. Safety procedures will be followed.
